Organizers

As a non-profit organization, Graie (Group for research, technical coordination and water information) has been bringing together stakeholders in the fields of water management, aquatic environments and urban planning for more than 30 years.

Created in 1985, Graie now has more than 300 members: public and private professionals, local authorities, firms and research laboratories. Graie's work aims to develop a shared culture, based on knowledge and the sharing of experiences to improve water management practices.

Graie thus contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and the development of practices and regulations relating to water. One of its means of action is the organization of the Novatech and I.S.Rivers conferences.

OTHU (Field Observatory for Urban Water Management)
is an “outdoor” research laboratory based in the Lyon region. It focuses on observing urban discharges and their impact on receiving environments, particularly during rainy weather. The aim is to understand and propose new solutions for sanitation design and management.

It is a research federation bringing together 9 research institutions - 12 laboratories and 110 researchers and technicians - and Graie, with strong operational partnerships with the Lyon Metropole and the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency.

The Metropole of Lyon is a  model for sustainable stromwater management. For more than 30 years, it has developed numerous practical trials and experiments to make the city more permeable and has fostered close partnerships with the research community. To improve the functioning of sanitation systems, limit runoff, and combat heat islands, parcel-level stormwater management has become the standard rule in urban planning documents.

The Metropole of Lyon brings together 59 municipalities and is heavily involved in the daily lives of its 1,300,000 inhabitants. Since January 1, 2023, drinking water management has been transferred to public control with the creation of Eau publique du Grand Lyon.
